Institute for Health Sciences of Aragon (IACS)


IACS promotes research, innovation and knowledge brokering in biomedicine and health sciences for the Aragon Regional Health System. IACS carries out its activity with the expectation of contributing to high quality care in the public health system, supporting innovation, research of excellence and benchmark training, as well as supporting the creation of wealth and economic growth.

Regarding Research and Innovation, IACS supports stable research and innovation groups in the areas of clinical and translational medical research, biomedicine, public health, health systems and policy research.

In addition IACS hosts and manages the technological core platforms supporting biomedical research, linking to the national and European networks, providing scientific technical services in the area of Bioinformatics, Proteomics, Genomics and functional sequencing, Biobank, Microscopy and Pathology, Cell Culture, Citometrics, Experimental Surgery, Phenotyping and medical imaging as well as Animal Facilities .

As part of IACS assistance to biomedical research, IACS is the regional authority for authorization and monitoring of (private and public) clinical trials as well as post authorization observational studies for drugs and devices.

Regarding Knowledge Transfer, we aim to improve the quality, safety and sustainability of the Healthcare System and support the decision-making process by providing HTA and evidence based products. IACS has a department of Evidence Based Decision Making.

PROJECT ROLE

Main role in the project will be leading the WP3 Identifying key elements for successful public procurement practices in the healthcare sector (Delphi methodology).

This WP involves setting a systematic methodology to facilitate the development of a consensus process at EU level, to define the key elements for a successful public procurement (PP) prepared for any health crisis. The methodology will combine two online surveying rounds and a subsequent meeting(s) in person.
