Andalusian Health Service (SAS)


The Andalusian Health Service (SAS) is a public agency responsible for healthcare provision in Andalusia. Its main purpose is to provide high-quality public healthcare to the citizens of the region, ensuring its accessibility and the satisfaction of its users, and seeking efficiency and optimum use of resources.

Healthcare services are provided by SAS through a network of integrated healthcare facilities: 1,512 primary care centres, 49 hospitals, 16 Health Management areas and more than 120,000 employees distributed throughout Andalusia.

The wide range of health public services provided include preventive and public health activities as well as highly specialized services.

Primary health level provides comprehensive care including health promotion and community health. Specialized care is provided by hospitals and outpatient clinics.

 

PROJECT ROLE

SAS participates in the whole project and takes different roles:

Work package leader: SAS has the role of coordinating the contributors of WP4 and to ensure the quality and the on-time delivery of the expected outcomes. As for the WP4 tasks, SAS is the leader of T.4.1. and T.4.2. and main contributor to T.4.3. and T.4.4.

As WP4 leader, SAS is also part of the project board with the other WP leaders, in order to ensure a holistic vision and coordinated planification.

Tasks contributor: as country leader and procurer, SAS contributes to almost all WP tasks: T.1.1, T.2.1, T.2.2, T.2.3, T.2.4, T.3.2, T.3.5, T.5.1 and T.5.2.

Country leader: SAS is the procurement organization leader for Spain in the project. It is responsible of setting the “Country Node” of organizations in order to provide information for the Observational Study on European Healthcare & Public Procurement Environment.
